Travis Labrum, PhD, LCSW
He/Him
I want to help you live the life you want. The best way for me to do that is by compassionately providing therapy demonstrated by research to be the most effective. I am skilled in Cognitive and Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Within a warm and empathic relationship, these therapies focus on specific goals, offer skills, and suggest action plans. I am also competent in more exploratory/expressive evidence-based models, such as Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapy. I recognize each person is unique, and we will partner in tailoring treatment to your style of healing and growth.
I have been a therapist since 2007. I am currently a full-time Associate Professor (with tenure) in the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh. There I conduct research on the topic of mental health and teach graduate-level clinical courses, including a specialized course on Cognitive and Behavior Therapy.
